Graduate Research Fellowships

 

The Center for Latin American and Caribbean Studies (CLACS) is excited to announce the call for applications for the 2025 Summer Graduate Research Fellowships. These fellowships are designed to support graduate students in the early stages of dissertation research through travel to Latin America.

Fellowship Opportunities:

  1. Tinker Foundation Fellowship
    Open to master’s and doctoral students conducting field research in Spanish and Portuguese-speaking countries. ABD students are not eligible. Previous awardees may reapply.

  2. Whitten Fellowship
    Supports travel for graduate students at any stage (including ABD) conducting research related to Latin America. Previous awardees may reapply.

  3. Kilby Fellowship
    For PhD students who have reached ABD status and plan to spend at least 4 weeks conducting research in Latin America.

  4. Love Fellowship
    Similar to the Kilby Fellowship, this is for PhD students who are ABD and intend to conduct research in Latin America for a minimum of 4 weeks.
