The Center for Latin American and Caribbean Studies (CLACS) serves students, faculty, and scholars from across the University of Illinois campus as well as communities throughout Illinois and the Midwest by promoting innovative research, teaching, and public awareness of Latin American and the Caribbean. With more than 130 faculty affiliates across 10 colleges and schools, CLACS strives to advance the field of Latin American and Caribbean Studies by driving interdisciplinary collaborations at local, regional, and global scales of inquiry. CLACS offers a BA, MA, and graduate minor in Latin American Studies, Quechua language training, student and faculty research support, and Latin America-focused programming and outreach.
